Right to Information (R.T.I.)
To apply for RTI, request should be made either through a handwritten letter or through electronic means in English or Hindi to the Public Information Officers, specifying the particulars of the information. Reason for seeking information is not required. An application fee of Rs 10 is charged. No fee is charged from people living below the poverty line (BPL). If additional fees is required, then the same is intimated in the writing.
The time limit to get the information is 30 days from the date of application in general cases and forty eight (48) hours for information concerning the life and liberty of a person. If the information demanded is related to other government authority, five days are added to the time limit. If the interests of a third party are involved then time limit will be 40 days (maximum period + time given to the party to make representation). Failure to provide information within the specified period is deemed refusal.
The grounds for rejection are, if the information sought is covered by exemption from disclosure or if it infringes copyright of any person other than the State.
Under the R.T.I. Act of 2005, section-5, sub section (1) following officers are appointed as Public Information Officers:

• Officer - Dr. A.P. Padaraha, Assistant Superintendent
